I finally got to see Mac in the woods this weekend and I was more than impressed. Mac put up 1100 on 6 coon. We looked at a coon in every tree Mac made. He gets by himself rolls up on the tree nice, and he will have the meat when you get there.

Congrats to Three time AKC Ladies World Championship winner Lisa Key and Gr.Nt.Ch. Moonlight Outlaw Mac on winning the 2016 AKC Ladies World Championship! Lisa won it in 2013 with Gr.Nt.Ch. Ky Moonlight Breanna..then won reserve World Champion in 2014 with Gr.Nt.Ch. Outlaw Cherry Bomb and has won it back to back in 2015 and 2016 with Mac. Congrats and thank you for making the long trip down from Wisconsin each year to compete in this hunt with different dogs from the Outlaw line that all started with your mom and dad nearly 30 years ago...I could not have started out in this breed with a better bunch of people....and I am proud of you and Mac.

Thanks Adam....she always does well with whatever she handles.
I think anyone could win with Mac...all one has to do is unsnap him....and call him for what he does. There are very few redbones that hunt as hard or tree as many coon as Mac...regardless of where you cut him. He wins casts wherever he goes with whoever is handling and those who draw out with him can tell you why that is better than I can. He is a special dog and we like him a lot

Just an update for those who have asked, or heard rumors.
Almost 3 weeks ago after Mac won the AKC Ladies World Championship with Lisa Key handling....I had him tested for all the Tick born diseases because I have felt for awhile now that he just wasn't acting like his normal self. He tested positive for Lymes disease but the vet felt like we caught it in the early stages so we immediately started treatment. He has a couple more weeks to go before I will start hunting him again. We are keeping our fingers crossed for a quick and full recovery. A few have asked why they haven't heard anything about Mac for awhile ...so I thought I would post an update. While Mac is down I have been catching up on neglected chores that have piled up since spring. I put over 30k miles on my truck in the past 8 months making my way through 8 states with Mac competing in hunts under 4 different registries. He has racked up a long list of wins and several titles and a small stack of money and prizes in the 2 1/2 years he has been in competition and done it under 5 or 6 different handlers in 9 or 10 different states. I hope he is the same dog after this bout with lymes...but if he isnt...he has won more in his short life than most other dogs ever will and I will always be proud of him for that. With the big fall hunts about to kick off in the next month or so...I just wanted to say good luck to everyone...I hope the redbones make a good showing!

Mac is doing fine after his bout with lymes disease and seems to be holding up well. He will be spending the winter in western N.C. with Adam Wingler so if anyone would like to see him go...contact Adam to arrange a hunt.
Still have plenty of semen stored on him at Nevergone if you have a quality female that your interested in breeding.

Took last week off, rained half the week and let our rifle deer season go ahead and close. So, made his inaugural drop back here in NC last night at about 930, he fell in quick about 500 yards, opened well, pushed it quick maybe another 100 and loaded up with a big locate. Made our trek around to attempt a shorter walk, found he had a den with a little one on the outside. Great to have him back temporarily for the winter!

oh, i prolly just used that as an excuse to take a week off...that and i don't own a hair on Mac, so the safer the better.

Had a great night with Eli and Mac last night. Made a number of drops, Mac covered about 3 miles in total, and ended the night with a double, so our coon rut is most likely in full swing.

This first tree was a tad beyond the "too big to shine". Even Jon Eubanks couldn't climb this one. A massive pine on a steep hill side is lost cause usually.

But his last tree was a nice finish, worked up a beautiful track a loooong distance and put up a double.
