Get your dog a rattlesnake shot from the vet and carry Benadryl with you , if you get one bit give it a Benadryl pill and watch for swelling it it starts to swell carry it to the vet most the time they will be ok unless they get bit on the nuts or throat and head

Joey do they administer the shot at the vets office and do you know if it protects from copperheads and how long is it good for...I have never had a problem but I have been seeing so many lately that it has me thinking..

Yes at the vets I think its $25 and gets a booster shot later , copperheads are not as rough as rattlers are on a dog but they say this helps with all of them

you could probably use a coghlans snake bite kit from walmart for 5 bucks its not specifically made for dogs but it's probably better than not having anything at all though

I give it each year. $7 for the initial booster than 2 weeks later another $7 shot. after that it is once a year. You can buy it from your vet and do it yourself. no need to pay to have it done. Mine is called RedRock Rattlesnake Vaccine
