Garmin alpha shutting down

Today when I went to shock my dog the hand held would power off. This happened more than once. It only did it in the shock mode on vibrate or tone it wouldn't do it. Anybody have any ideas?

Do a master reset and it will fix problem. Also do an update through Garmin Updater.

.

Not saying this is the case here but it is a start and something that is generally needed in cases like yours.

Get rid of all your old tracks. I hear it all the time that people have done that. In most cases they miss some. You have archived tracks, old dog tracks and the tracks the handheld itself leave behind. Clear all of them. The unit can only hold so much info and when it gets full and you try to do another function it will also shutdown.

Also many places are fixing to have cold weather. You will see a lot of post like this because cold weather also adds some strain on the battery.
