(Another) Garmin Collar Question

Hopefully this will be a little different than most Garmin questions. Here's the situation:

I've got a 220 that works just fine. I know it doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but it works and it has paid for itself many times over.

I've recently got into running Beagles with some local guys. Hopefully I'll be handling in some Hunting Beagle events coming up. Of course, I'd like to have a collar to put on a Beagle during the hunts, but all I have is a DC30, which is too big for a little dog. What mini collars did they make that are compatible with a 220 and are they reasonable to find today?

Thanks for your help!

I would call Garmin 1-800-800-1020. They will tell you what you need. On here you may get 10 answers and they may all be wrong. Just my opinion.

The only collar that will fit a beagle the is compatible with a 220 is a DC40. You will have to buy a used one.

.

pztrailman gave you the correct info. My opinion is if you start putting money in used DC 40's. The ratio of the system paying for itself will start to diminish. The bright side of the coin is this. You seem to have good care of your equipment. You may find a few good DC 40's and get a lot of life out of them. Good Luck and enjoy!

Thanks Bruce. I knew you would know the correct answer.

I'm eventually going to buy a new system, but its just not in the books right now. As long as I'm hunting with the same guy I am now we can use his system with TT15 minis to run the dogs. I'm going to buy one DC40 just for running in UKC hunts, so I'm not going to tie a bunch on money into a bunch of collars.

Thanks again!
