Anyone ever use a redbone as a coon/bird dog?

I have a redbone he runs coons but also retrieves well too. Think he'd make a good bird dog as well since he's good in the water and retrieves well also if I did would it affect his coon hunting abilities

years ago i had an english female that i could go out in the day time and shoot rabbits over all day long . i used her twice to track down wounded deer . when it was dark she was a coon and possum dog with never a rabbit or deer race .hounds are a lot smarter than people realize .if you have the time to put in training and your red bone is one of the rare ones that lives only to please its master i dont see any reason not to try some cross training with him .
