A big thanks to Mike Mathews for breeding his nt ch Kink female to turkey. Sassy is a complete natural, she split treed from turkey last night with the coon at 5mo and 20 days old.

I've been hunting 6 mo old sassy solo on a regular basis. She's not your average pup, she starts hunting the moment you unsnap her and has went as far as 6/10 of a mile. Last night she treed 230 yards from the truck and had another single in a large pin oak tree. It was curled up asleep in a fork so it might have been there awhile.

Sassy and turkey after a successful opening night of season. Sassy split from her sire at roughly 275 yards away and had a coon. Not bad for a 7 mo old pup.

Thanks. Season is a little restricted because deer season is in full swing but I'm still able to get the dogs out for a short hunt each night.

Sassy getting it done again. Last night she treed a single, double, possum and a slick tree. I've never had an 8 mo old pup hunt as hard as this one. Her last tree was 8/10 of a mile from the truck.

Sassy wanted her Christmas present to be a coonhunt so we went despite the moonlight, frost and 22 degree temperature. First drop I caught her 3/4 mile from the truck (not a bark), second drop she treed a den at 700 yards and I squalled it out for a shot.

Congrats Travis ! I can remember when that litter was born Brad picked out Mac and turkey and said these r what he thought were the best pups in the litter . He wanted me to have turkey was going to give him to me. I didn’t take him “what a stupid mistake that was” although he was best looking pup. Brad gave him to Brian for his stud fee pup. It turned out to be a excellent cross!! I know that several turned out to be above average hounds . I’ve always kept track of turkey regretting I didn’t take him! Oh well you ha e done great things with him winning hunts and breeding him . He is all a man can look for in a hound . You two have been a great team congrats!!!

Hunting has been shut down for over a week due to the amount of ice we still have. I took sassy last night despite the conditions and was not disappointed. She turns 9 mo old today but you'd think she's a 3 year old at night. She treed a nice boar coon roughly 350 yards from the truck after trailing across a half frozen river. For those interested in breeding to Turkey, it appears he crosses best on t-top females and yellow river bred females.
