Here we go!!!! Lol . I’ve most likely hunted more states then u have from north to south and east to west. Coon dogs are coon dogs no matter where you cut em. North dogs deal with a lot of winter conditions that Southerd dogs don’t and southern dogs have tough situations in other ways. True coon treers get it done every where.

Agree 100%, true coon dogs tree coons anywhere you hunt them, mountains, swamps, flat land, etc. Dave

Let the top 100 decide

Every year they should have a vote. Let the top 100 dogs competing in the World finals vote on where the hunt should be held the following year.
Get your dog qualified, get through the zone, then you get to vote. It would be real interesting to see where it is held the most, North, South, East or West.
Would that be fair?

Aurora, Kentucky. Did a great job hosting the PKC World for years. Great grounds there at the Tennis Center and plenty of lodging as well. Not a great coon population, but not terrible. Could work for sure.

Some nice clubs in PA. A couple clubs have done well hosting the Zones here. Dogs have to work to tree coons and the woods is nice. We got every type of hunting here in PA besides the deep water swamps!

Why wouldn’t it be held in a central location? Seems like that would be the best option to solve most of the bickering. That does away with the south vs. north debate. And would at least let the southern boys not have to cross the entire country. I wouldn’t want it in the south every year, can’t understand why some want it in their backyard every year other than selfishness. Why not pick a northeast location, southeast, southwest and north central location and rotate between the 4. At least everyone would have it closer to home every 4 years.

Maine, I vote Maine. I ain't never been there and from watching Northwoods law it looks like it would be a great place to visit with a good coon population.. lmao. I love the fact UKC moves it around. After all guys if your packin a true world champion what difference does it make where it is held.. The best dog should win no matter where it is cut loose. I do like the fact that they spaced the zones and the world a little farther apart..

My prejudice is showing here , but I do love hunting in the Carolina;s but that storm is going to have a lot of down timber there for a few years and hunting will be tougher than normal for sure. With that said. 4 STATES , MIAMI OR SENECA. We have the Coons and the guides Plus several good clubs in 4 states . S/FI

Mr Allen Gingrich makes that decision after careful consideration and input from a lot of sources. They have some basic requirements such as physical site and region. Then they look at number of guides and competant judges that the club can provide. The UKC field rep from that area has input. The history of hunts put on by the club are looked at. The costs are considered such as grounds rental. The availability of a physical site on that one weekend is considered. The site must also have an indoor facility capable of holding a "World Championship Bench Show". There are a lot of behind the scenes factors that must be considered besides how many coons they have, how flat the hunting is and how far it is from Tarbaby's house.
