Update

Mac got injured on the final cast over the weekend out in Missouri.
He won the cast, but later when I got him out of the box he acter stiff and sore and was trying to lick his left front leg by his shoulder. When I lifted it I found he had a 3" long gaping cut in his armpit between his leg and chest. I got him to the vet on the way home and they found wood splinters at the back under his skin. It appears he ran into a sharp stick or tree branch. Thankfully it mostly just tore the skin and didnt do much muscle damage so they got him stitched up and said he should be ok in 10-14 days.

There wasnt any blood hardly at all. The edges of the hide were white like maybe he had been wet or in the water for awhile...maybe over on the river. Heck for all I know it could have happened on the early round and I just didnt notice when we got pics took. It looks mostly like it sliced his skin front to back between his leg and chest right in his armpit...didnt get very deep into the muscle so we got lucky there.
It was good to hunt with shine finally. I know it was a bad night..but I saw he got open quick and had plenty of go ...both things that can help the redbone breed!

Been hunting Mac in the biggest pieces of state ground I can since he came back from North Carolina...didn't know there were so many coons left in there with all the pressure they get from other hunters
He is getting deep and putting up lots of ricky's every night we go.
I feel pretty confident he will tree real live raccoons anywhere I unsnap him!

Got a message yeasterday from a guy that drove 5 hr one way to see Mac go they said they was very impressed with what they seen from Mac well worth the trip beleave he bred his grnt female to Mac
