Mac just turned three years old and is a line bred Outlaw dog top and bottom. He is a direct son of Outlaw Billy the Kid on top and his mother ( a half sister to Dual Grand Nite Champion Ky Moonlight Woody) is also Outlaw bred top and bottom going back to Outlaw Billy the Kid and his mother Outlaw Jessie multiple times through both Ranger and Kate. He is no accident and he is living up to the potential we expected from this cross. I own Mac with Danny Biggert and we feel like he has proven enough at to this point that we can feel confident in offering him at stud to some quality females.
I partnered with Danny in early June of this year and began handling him in competition. He quickly finshed to Grand Nite Champion and shortly there after won fist place at an RQE and qualified for the World Championship. He won both of his Gr.Nt.Ch. casts at American Redbone Days in June with 687 1/2+ and 975+ also winning 1st place Gr.Nt.Ch.( both times judged by Pastor Mike Laster) then won two Gr.Nt.Ch.casts at National Redbone Days with 625+ and 525+ winning 1st place Gr.Nt.Ch. (judged by Pastor John Dell and also by Adam Frary).
He then went to the AKC Ladies-Youth-Seniors World Championship where he was handled by our good friend Lisa Key from Wisconsin. Mac was High scoring dog and won the overall 2015 Ladies World Championship!
This also qualified him for the AKC World Championship next spring.
Then he started competing in PKC and has been in 6 casts, winning 5 of them (twice winning back to back casts at double headers) this also qualified him for the PKC World Championship this fall.
In all, since June Mac has been in 16 casts in three registries across four states under 3 handlers and has won 13 of those casts. So we think his record as a competition dog is pretty solid.
Mac is a big hunting dog with lots of drive and independence. He takes his tracks as they come, covers a lot of ground quickly and above all will stay treed and take all the pressure put on him and show you real live, wild raccoons when you get to him. He is very accurate. He is pretty quick to open and I would say he has a medium to cold nose and moves a track well. He opens good...but not excessively. He is not a radical tree dog but has a great locate and trees a steady 60 or so barks a minute. I have hunted him with males, females, rowdy pups and never seen any bad habits. He is usually treed deep and alone with a coon.
Mac is the kind of dog I always hoped for out of old Billy and with strong winning reproducers on the bottom of his pedigree we feel like he could really add something desirable to the redbone breed.
If Mac can help your breeding program, let Danny or I know and we will try to make him available. We also have semen stored on Mac at the Nevergone breeding facility in Wabash Indiana.
