Proposal 11 - Running, Treeing, or Molesting Off Game.

11. Running, Treeing, or Molesting Off Game.

• Change rules to state dogs must be SEEN running, treeing, or molesting off game.

2019 UKC RULE PROPOSAL CLARIFICATIONS AND NOTES
Be advised, the following notes are the opinions/statements of those who submitted the proposals and may or may not necessarily reflect the opinion of UKC.

PROPOSAL 11: Current rules do not require a visual of off game for minus to be awarded. Sentence adds the word seen. *A coon must be seen to be plus points to be awarded. This change requires the off game to be seen for minus points to be awarded. This is change will prevent the unscrupulous cast members or Non-Hunting Judges from awarding minus points without visual verification.

Dog A is opening on a track, cast hears a little scuffle, it is obvious dog caught something on the ground, dog shuts up and moves on, time gets him, minus. Dog B trees and dog A strikes back in and covers, as cast is going to the tree you came across a fresh killed skunk. When cast arrive at the tree dog A reeks of skunk odor.

You didn't see it, so was dog A molesting off game?

Handler would say his dog was running a coon and ran smack dab into a skunk. Messed his dog up so bad it couldn’t tree the coon it was running.
