I think is a good idea. With the time change it don't get dark until 10. Working man would maybe hunt a one hour hunt during the week. I think it best thing pkc has going for them jmo.

UKC already has one hour hunts. The week night warm up hunts the week of AO are one hour hunts. I know the Liberty club hosted some.

I only thought during the week might get local guys out for hour.alot of working guys have family functions in summer to deal with . Just a thought should at least be an option. Jmo

I'm probably in the minority, but with all the expense of going to these hunts, I wouldn't mind having a one hour "double header" UKC hunt. The other KC's already do the double headers and it gives you two chances to get a placing on your dog with the gas money of attending just one hunt.

With kid functions going on this time of year until late fall, I could make a "late round" double header event much easier than hurrying around on a Friday trying to make an early deadline. Just a thought for UKC to ponder.

Not a fan of one hour hunts but I could see where UKC could use it. It would also benefit hunter, local clubs, and them. If they allow Mini slams to be the only one hour hunts. Then loosened up the restrictions on the mini slams that if you hosted a double header it still only counts as one hunt. You would be bringing in 60$ instead of 30$ every dog. Basically drawing twice as many dogs on the same night.

If a dog went from nothing to GrNtCh in 8 one hour hunts, do you all think that dogs title would be equal to the titles won by dogs that had to win 8 two hour hunts?

One hour hunts with the style of our dogs today are a total crap shoot nothing more. One hour hunts are the biggest sham that has ever been introduced in any kennel club.

Let's see, we went from 3 hour hunts years ago to a 2 hour hunt, because some couldn't stand the 5 or 6am deadline. After going to a 2 hour hunt to make those people happy and the deadline being around 2 or 3am. Now some want a 1 hour hunt, I guess in about 10 years someone will want a 30 minute hunt with a midnight deadline, then 10 years after that they will only want to cut the dogs loose once with a 10pm deadline. I have a question, does mommy set a curfew for you and you can't stay out after midnight? I wonder when some of you go coon hunting do you only hunt 30 minutes and go home.

Dawg we used to make deadline more often than not back in the 3 and 4 hr hunts now in the 1 and 2 hr hunts they struggle to make it. Plus in the 3 hr hunts you had to have a well trained dog to put enough plus points on the card to beat 60 dogs or 300 plus dogs at a big hunt and stay off of minusing out doing it jmo 1 hr hunts are feeder bucket hunts or a hunt were it don't matter if you tree a coon or not. Who does the worse best jmo.

If wasn't so many bucket dogs in ukc. We wouldnt have to worry about a deadline. Let the dogs hunt. You dont have to move to a new feeder every drop. I like to tree coon and feeders dont bother me but atleast cut loose back off of them. You have to give 6 or 7 hrs now to hunt 2. Thats reeeeeediculous. People like to call time to much nowdays. Least maybe they could hunt 1.5 straight without moving.Might have to teach fido to recast off a treethen. Back when they had 3 hr hunts 4 to I assume. Took them olden age dogs that long to tree a kitten coon. That was after they ran it and boo hooed all over the country for several miles. Cause we all know coon ran harder and further back then.

Plus look at it from a club stand point your making twice the money on a double header. I wouldn't want to see 1 hour hunts for anything but mini slams.

No you have to have plus points it's nothing like The other KC. You can't tree off game scratched. It's just you have to finish in final 4 to get any championship for your dog.
