I have a pup who was snake bit on the leg a week ago and it never swelled up much then went away. I hunted him and think he may have got into some bees or something. Head been swollen since Saturday and been giving him Benadryl few times a day and not helping. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I've had pups try to tear down my honeybee stands, get stung a bunch and be over it in 2 or 3 days. Had one to eat bad shrimp that I was going to use for trotline bait. Her nose swelled up bad, blowing snot everywhere. Gave her benydrill, next day she was a lot better. Thought the shrimp was gonna kill her.

Just a quick question? Does this pup have any pustules, sores on its body especially on or around its face or missing hair around its eyes or edges of ears?
I'm sure doc has you giving a steroid which is also part of the treatment on what came to mind when I read this. My first thought was puppy strangles, though very rare it does occasionally pop up.

I have a dog that I thought was either stung by bees or bitten by a spider on her head. In one day, her head swelled up big, so I gave her Benadryl.

By the next day, her head was still swollen, the right side of her neck was also swollen, and the swelling had gone all the way down to her right shoulder. The Benadryl didn't seem to help her, and she kept shaking her head every so often, so I took her in to the vet that day.

Her swelling ended up being caused by a broken tooth on the right side of her jaw, back by the molars. The vet put her on a week of antibiotics, & there was still a bit of swelling left so he gave her another week of them. She is back to normal now, but will be going in to have that tooth removed.

The durapen did the trick. Switched to a stronger antibiotic and just waiting for it to clear up.

Never took him in. That vet didn't get back to me when I called and I am working out of town and he is with me. When I got back home that evening he looked much better, so I figured an infection.

I had a hound who develop a swollen head due to an infection from foxtail or other similar plant. Predisone is what helped with the swelling about 50%. Eventually, the vet performed an operation. That finally did the job.
