Mine all have a nice mix of it in them. I guess I've been leaning toward dogs with Harry up close.

In fact Old Sackett was a double shot of Yadkin River Blood. Yadkin River Jeff was his grandsire on both sides. Old Jeff was also the grandsire of Nailor on the top.
I'll 2nd that. Help us understand .

Finley River

Hi,

You are exactly right. Most everything goes back to those original dogs. The number of times they go back vary. Don Nicely can trace them back and tell you how many times to each dog.

Good Hunting,
Robert

All that old blood is bred out and don't mean nothing to a hill of beans. You want to help the Walker breed?Pull out the Spring Creek Rock Semen and you will put the word Coondog back in our hounds.

The whole idea of line breeding is to keep the old blood alive. In my opinion, if it's done right, it's worth a little more than a hill of beans. Thanks for your opinion though.

[/Just how many people are doing it right? Not very many.Ive seen to many pedigrees with too many outcrosses to be considered linebreeding. So lets see your pedigrees to see how its done.

Can't seem to figure out how to make this pedigree readable. It gets distorted the closer you zoom in. Bare with me.

that could be right also ,but be as them dogs been around long enough in the weekend wonder gene pool,,and before that,,you could be breeding greatdane/bulldog and whatever before they started jacking up the dna testing for the people selling puppys didnt care what they were out of as long as they had a set of papers to put on them for whatever weekend wonder was selling pups$$$$.....

dna has slowed some of it down but after they get to the 3rd gen on a dog do you really know for sure if the dog was really out of what it says with out it being dna'd with a picture on file..

i know for a fact back when hopkins cash was alive and the next big thing...

they was a fella buying goodlooking started year old pups from a dog trader i knew for a good price and give him the papers back and he take them and mark them as dead and write them off his income tax and stick the cash in his pocket ,he'd make out double.

he told me the fella was breeding everything he could to cash and getting extra papers and useing them on the young started dogs he sold him,,the dna program shut his steady extra income down,,

but do we really know how many others was doing the same thing back then with the other next big thing.and people are still swaping papers today .

i got a nice young dog now without papers thanks to someone swaping papers on his mother and seems no way to find out where the right papers are on her some of the previous owners cant be tracked down..

unless i know who raised/bred the dogs on a 3 gen ped i dont count on them being right ,just like these all grand ped dogs,

back in the day they were guys that you sent your money/papers to and they got titles made on them,,heard of one dummy got caught hunting a set of papers with the wrong breed of dog for a ringer, lol,,,poor guy must have been color blind,,lmao..

The DNA slowed down the paper switching for certain, it does show that the dog is who he is claimed to be anyway. If you fooled with a line for a few generations, you start seeing certain little clues that show up generation after generation, don't need a test to know where something came from, you can see it. If you know the bloodline of your dog and see the same thing out of greatgrand pups, the old blood is still present, other wise they would be totally different . Don't know about Great Danes or Bull Dogs, but the German Shepherds and Bird dogs seemed to help !

dont forget the dalmation blood ,can see that in about any line thats pumped up..

always wondered if those calico ears were from the birddogs or the dalmations...

you can see the bulldog in some of them when the head is wider than long.

seen a lot of that back in the day, from dogs people were useing yakinriver papers on...still see it today on some of the linebred dogs from some of the other papers also..

i had pups from 2 different beaverlake majic sons on 2 different females and could see the german shepard tails and rear hind quarters,,only about 2 out of 10 pups made anything worth keeping then i shot the one i kept for growling at my son then he growled at me,,was a fair coondog at 4yrs old that didnt need a lead on to hunt but he messed up ,earned himself a .38 slug..

strains

I hunt bear, my favorite strain is whitecloud, no watered down stuff pure whitecloud. Besides that id say the house breeding, before lipper came around. I have a Meyers bred female, but that is mainly house breeding and spring creek. And she is put together really well.
