To all that got one of these----
Today, 1/30/2015, I took Zack out for a little hunt. It was 10:30 AM and the temp was 14 above with a 15 MPH south wind. Making it feel like about 0. We went on the north side of the road and hunted a swamp and did see some old tracks in the little snow that was in the shade so I knew they had been around. So after nothing happening I headed back to the truck. Now with all the darn cold temps we had the last month, the last thing I expected to do was fall in a darn creek!! But I did, so with one water filled boot I made it back. Zach handles the way I like, hunts out, but will come when you call him, so as we get to the truck I see him putting his head high into the air winding across in the other cattails on the south side. He got in there about 75 yards and opened, after checking out the tree, I'm sure the coon came out of, he went across the ice to the far side of the swamp and there in an old oak, he located and came down treed.
Just wanted you guys and gals to know what you should expect with your pups after some age and experience. Their dam, Rose, well she has as good of a nose and handles even better than Zach.
Good hunting to you all and thank-you.
OT
