Anyone want to hunt this coming week?

So this is really last minute... I had some vacation planned from work- and had planned on hunting with a buddy in Iowa this coming week..... they are pretty sure they have Covid, so obviously plans changed. Real nice fella and hope it is not a bad deal for him.

I've still got this time off work. I like to travel somewhere new once a year and hunt where there is a better coon populations than here. If you like to coon hunt, have some good places to go, and would like to have someone tag along let me know. My dogs aren't world beaters but they are not mean or trashy... .won't cause any headaches. I'm looking to:

1. Find somewhere that I could camp, preferentially with electricity.

2. Be no more than about 13 or so hours from home (Sheridan, WY).

3. Hunt like Saturday night (14th) and maybe stay and hunt four or five nights.

I realize this is last minute- but if you'd be interested let me know. Best to text, 307-461-1656.

What part of Iowa were you wanting to hunt? I’m in the southeast corner.

Big thanks to Ashley Pratt.... A great example of a good houndsman. Invited me up at the last minute.... Fed me great food and hunted all week with me. He has a real nice hound, Rooster, anyone would be glad to own. My pup benefitted greatly from a week of hunting there. Came home a different 7 month old than I had left home with.

Folks, this is the kind of post that makes me proud to be a coon hunter, I love seeing folks help each other. Houndsound, glad Ashley invited you to hunt with him, he seems like a standup guy and sounds like you guys had a good time. Dave

Glad you had a good time out here. We enjoyed visiting. We treed coon every night but they really weren’t moving well. Come on out anytime.

We had some good hunting. It definitely did his pup some good being in coons. It’s always nice meeting new hunters and enjoying the sport.
