raw hamburger meat / chicken

I have been feeding my hounds raw hamburger meat and /or chicken.

They eat it well.

Has anyone done this? Any problems?

The concern I would have is salmonella and e -coli with pups; why raw instead of processed for pups? Tom

Thank you for your responses.

I care about my hounds. I spends hundreds of $$$ on the latest lights, garmins, etc.

I dont mind spending more on food for them.

yes they can, but they have to have immunocompromised system or some underlying problem. A canines body gets rid of the bacteria before it can affect the dog. Now I wouldn't recommend playing with its fecies because you can get it. If these bacteria where a problem for canines I'd say there would be a lot less coyotes out there. I bet they don't get pro plan very often.

I have fed Blue Ridge Beef for 20 years. Dogs run faster, harder and recover quicker on a meat bases diet. All racing dogs are fed about 60% beef to 40% meal. All my coonhounds are fed Blue Ridge Beef and tripe as well.

i feed mine road kill deer. i butcher it and give them meat on bone every day. even when it starts stinking pretty bad they still love it. i also freeze some of the meat. i cook that with rich and other vegitables and mix that with purena dog chow. also, when i go fishing, i keep every little fish i catch, trash, sharks whatever. i freeze these and feed them to the dogs from time to time. i put them on the grill a few minutes first.
