Canopy

Looking to buy a pop up canopy for hunting camp. Need one that can withstand high winds and heavy rain. Any recommendations would be super helpful and appreciated. Thank you!

Look at Academy. I have a couple of the cheap ones figure if it blows away I'm out $60 but they do have some heavier duty.

I just use those cheap blue tarps nowdays. Done spent too much on canopys. I use old tent posts, tie at least 2 ropes at each corner, cut a pole from the woods for the center with a plastic bucket on top of the pole, so the pole won't cut a hole in the tarp. Put the center up pretty high so you wont have puddles in the tarp, about a 7/12 pitch. Tie off to trees or use those screw in stakes, like you tie dogs to. Use bungee cords between the rope & tarp to allow for some give or the tarp will just tear apart. I use the cheap tarps around the cooking area as a wind & rain break. build the fire close to the edge so the smoke gets out, but you can still cook over it without getting too wet.

Pop Ups

The whole point of the pop-ups is ease of setting up and taking down. They are not about durability, they are about convenience.

The cheaper light-weight ones, I can set up and take down myself. The heavy-duty ones I can't do it all myself. Just something to think about.

If you want one to last take the cheapo one into a boat canvas shop and have them make you the canopy top. Or keep buying the replacement tops on ebay for 39$ plus 8 shipping.

Canopys

Oklared is right. The military ones will hold up much better. But they will be expensive and heavy. It's all in what you want and are willing to pay for.

Pop-Up is about quick and easy. As you go heavier and more durable, it becomes a whole lot less pop-up.
