Drive Track 70 -PROBLEM SOLVING

OK, one more question. This is regarding my Drive Track 70.

My dogs are not showing up on my Drive track 70 screen, even though they are showing on my Alpha screen. My Alpha Broadcast Data mode is in the ON position but Drive track 70 says it is not reading any dogs. I changed to mode on the drive Track 70 from vehicle navigation to Dog Tracking, and still it doesn't seem to be reading what my Alpha is putting out.

Is this a common problem or am I the lucky guy to get one with a glitch in it? I originally thought my aluminum dog box was creating the problem, as I cannot shock my dogs in the haul box while sitting behind the steering wheel with any type of regularity. Don't know why but I have always had that problem with my alpha when trying to teach my dog to keep quiet while being hauled.

Any/all suggestions/recommendations are welcome. And once again whenever I find the correct fix for this problem, I WILL note it in my note book under Drive Track problem solving. Thanks in Advance!!

Thank You Mr. Phipps. I updated mine a month to 6 weeks ago. It worked for one night after I activated the broadcast data mode, but I don't think it has worked since. I don't use this device every night that I hunt, but was trying to use it the last couple of nights and couldn't get it to link up

Rocket the best help I can give you is to call Corey at the store between 10:30 and 5:30. He can ask you a few questions and walk you through what you need to do.

Very hard to answer some of these technical questions on a message board. Many times it is as simple as turning it off and back on. We just have to ask questions and find out just what mode yours is in and how your trying to use it.

This has happened to me before. I fixed it by going into the menu on the Drive Track and clicking unpair. When they linked back up, everything was fine.

Thanks Bruce, If Tackleberry's suggestion is unsuccessful, I will give Cory a call. Thanks to all. I will report back as to what is successful.

Well I got it connected, but not exactly sure how. I went in as suggested by Tackleberry, clicked unpair, turned on my Alpha, linked it to my collar, waited to see if system would automatically link back up to my Alpha, but it did not.

So I went in and turned off Broadcast data on my alpha, and then re-enabled, still didn't link up. So then I went back to my Drive Track, settings "I Think", and hit restore defaults, or something like that. I then had to reset, my preferred settings on my DriveTrack, and when I was finished it reconnected to the Alpha. Now it's reading my collars. Yea!!!

Rocketman it isn't only you that is confused. LOL In my first response to you I stated that sometimes fixing these things are as simple as turning them off and starting over. We as people all have different levels of patience and experience with the electronic equipment that seems to be taking over our world. This stuff can trick the most simple minded person and the experienced at the same time. How many stories have we heard of someone thinking they were stepping on the brake in their car but having their foot on the gas pedal running through walls. Many times I have thought I was using the right sequence of button pushing to get a wanted result out of an electronic instrument. Only to take a deep breath and see I was pushing the wrong button.

Yes, sometimes when we just know we pushed the right buttons or connected something correctly that isn't working. The best fix is taking a deep breath. Turning everything off and starting over again.

The most frustrating but best example of this for me is going through the motion of upgrading collars sometimes and run into one that won't connect to the computer. Says it can't find the device and I have it in my hand and plugged in. I can't explain it, but if you have done everything right. The answer to your problem is turning off your computer, restarting it and trying again. Amazing how it works the second time.
