Everett,s Mad Dog South Central

Everett,s Mad Dog Shelly, turned Shelly loose last night by her self, she went in about 150 yards and struck she pushed it in another 450 yards swam the bayou and came treed about 50 from the bayou walked back out to the truck drove around and walked in to her she was treed about 40 minutes with a hard steady chop, had the coon, she really looked good, she is getting better every time out, yep I think she is going to make it. she is really coming to her own,the biggest problem I am having with her is barking when the truck leaves the house with the dog box in it, she thinks she should be in it, but I guess that,s a good problem, the desire to go has to be there.Gerald

last nights hunt

well me and Jason cut loose around 8:30 last night, he,s hunting a young Bullet II male and for me it was Mad Dog Shelly, first cut they went in and the male (Demon) struck and treed fairly quick shelly did not want the tree, we shined but no luck no coon, 2nd cut they struck and treed within 15 minutes shelly was knocking the top out of this one, and yep big coon in it, we brought him down to reward their efforts, 3rd cut was on the bayou shelly struck then demon the next thing you know she,s across the bayou and fell treed, Demon joined her at the tree and they were hammering it hard went in to a big cypress tree lots of under growth hard to shine could not get him to look, called it a night, all and all it was pretty good. Sounds like she is making a good one! This kill season will be fun for you. Just keep her in the timber and let her develop, most Turk pups do it all on their own. I just supply hunt time on mine. Very little persuasion is needed in training. Good luck with her and keep us posted.

bad luck

hunted in a hunt last night, 5 reg. dogs I drew the 2 dog cast, 1st cut I had 1st strike and 2nd tree scored the coon im sitting at 175 but down by 25 after that deal we only had 37 minutes left to hunt 2nd cut I get 1st and 1st, we get to the tree coon is looking down right at us, the other hunter say,s I can,t see him then starts working on his light said it was messing up the tree closed with out him seeing the coon, the hunt ended while we where shinning the tree, so that one slipped away I lost it by 25, that,s what stinks about a 2dog cast.

Bad luck.

We've seen allot of that. It happens allot. I just like the best dog that night to come out on top. Some like to win at all cost. Better luck next time. Hopefully the light thing was not intentional in your case. Good Luck.

Way to go Shelly

Just part of the game and you have to be tuff skined. You and the other guy know who the winner was. He's the one that has to live with the fact that now you know what kind of man he is.
Hang in there and Shelly will show what she is. Go for the next one.
Robin just plain and simple got beat last night at Holden. We had a good hunt and the best dog won.
I can't wait for kill season to open here in Ks. This will be Robins first full kill season and she should come out lookin like a coondog.

putting shelly back in the woods tomorrow night, I think I will cut her by her self the first cut, 2nd cut I will cut her in then let another dog go to her after she strikes, I like putting dogs in different situations, post update on how it works out later.Gerald

another good hunt

Hunted shelly last night my partner hunted his bullet II male and a female, we made 3 tree,s 1 slick, 1 big oak with a huge hole coon could have went in, and the last tree was pay dirt,big boar and we brought him down, game over, the tree with the hole shelly had it by herself and was hammering it home, demon was trailing 40 yards down the bayou and shelly never once pulled to check him there was not even a pause in her steady chops, when she hooks up she is there. she,s out of coon Wacker but close enough, thanks guys for the responses, I will be hunting her again tonight, hopefully we can get in some coon and work these young dogs hard, the bayou we hunt on presents a challenge of it,s on, a dog has to be willing to get wet no matter the temp. heart is a big part of the game here, there,s just no room for slackers, so far shelly is holding up her end of the deal. Ok I know which female she is.

I thought Mad Dog Rugger was off Turk x Jude and died while hunting about 3 months ago. I think he was 2 years old. Are there two with the same name? Straighten me out.

there was a another one named rugger, this one is only 4 months old my daughter named him mad dog rugger he chops on a coon tail about a 130 a minute, can,t wait until he is big enough to take to the woods, I think he his going to be exciting to work with. Gerald
