I've owened my full size top storage dogbox and carpenters deep depth workbox for 21 years and they are as good as they were when i first bought them. The only things i've had to replace were the lid struts. They ship all over the US and are as good or better than any i have seen.

Hardend steel has to be preheated or it will crack. Maybe they need to look in to what alloy they use maybe it has to be preheated as well I'm a welder by trade also we weld a lot of heavy raw chrome it has to be at 400 deg when you start welding then have to wrap with heat blankets to cool slowly( overnight) or it will crack all to hell.

It's possible to get some bad material & I'm ok with that, but the way OWENS handled this situation was a joke, they pretty much laughed about it. That is the part that pisses me off, they where really rude & disrespectful i do not recommend there product to no one, they are unprofessional & only care about getting your money

I've been going back and forth for a week now from them box is only a year old and it's cracked and six spots only on the front where the doors are and they won't warranty it so I wouldn't buy from Owens there garbage

I have had an Owens top storage for many, many years, probably one of the first ones made after Eric sold his company to them.

It has been a wonderful box with no problems and still doesn't leak even after my cousin hit it with a truck and put a hole in it (some way the hole is doesn't let the water in, strange).

I just bought a new bottom storage so we shall see.

However to expect a company to do something with a product that is out of warranty is really expecting too much. If they do great, if not then they aren't really liable for it since the warranty is one year.

I have owned plenty of Owens box's never one problem even if I loose a key they will give me one at a hunt they attend , I would not buy any thing else but I have never had a problem either.
