New pup

I have a four month old pup. What advice can I get to start her training to be a coonhound?

Don’t know if you’ve ever heard of em, or if you can still find em but dig around on the computer and find the “Walk With Wick” books buy both of em, read em thoroughly and if she’s got any coondog in her she’ll learn as ya go, hopefully somebody on here will give you a better answer but if y’all are both green at it I’d start there

.

Love to take this journey with you. I see your in Arkansas. Are you in a rural area where the pup can roam around some of you going have to transport it to your hunting ground? Most important thing right now at 4 months old is to socialize the pup by handling it. Along with that is health and feeding so you have a pup that reaches its potential. How about sharing the breed of your pup along with some pedigree information. Your experience with pups would also be helpful. Great to be putting a plan together. But I think baby steps in the right direction would be better than large steps that be negative for your pup. Watch the pup and learn to read him and let that tell you the path to follow. Looking forward to hearing from you.
