Rule ??

If you cut your dog and theres another dog treeing and the tree is closed and he goes and treess with that dog how is it scored ? I know its next available strike. But how is it scored if you tree your dog or if you don't tree your dog depending if its a minus, plus or circlce tree

Rule ?

Dog recut and found treed on a closed tree
Declared treed and coon seen or circle tree strike points would be deleted and would recieve 125- and wouldn’t receive any additional assigned tree points. 125-
Slick or off game the dogs strike would still be deleted and recieve the 125- and then be assigned a additional 25- and scratched if hunting in ch casts. Total score would be 150-
The 125- would be any dog declared treed after the tree is closed will be considered on a different tree and when you arrive at the tree and it’s on the closed tree it is assumed that dog left it’s tree and covered the other dog.

Now if dog that’s recut is found treeing but not declared treed on closed tree when cast arrives the said dogs strike points will be deleted assuming it was struck after the first dog declared treed on the closed tree was treed. If coon is seen or tree is circled the dog would get a free pass. If it is scored as slick or off game the dog would be assigned 25 tree points and minused or scratched if hunting in ch casts. All scenarios are based on the assumption the tree was already called or dead when dog in ? Was recut . In the case of the dog getting struck in before the other dog(s) are declared treed the dog would be liable for its strike points and be scored depending upon how or what was in the tree.

So, I am assuming that the best thing to do if your dog comes in to a closed tree and starts treeing it would be better not to declare it treed. Would that be best?

Rule ?

Rule 4(i) Any dogs declared treed after three minutes expires
and tree is closed; call will be accepted as a split
tree. If dog is on closed tree when judge arrives,
strike and tree points are scored as dog left separate
split tree and is now considered treeing but not
declared treed on this particular tree.

Rule 3(e) Dog(s) that are shut out* must still be declared
struck. They are eligible for tree points if they are
declared treed within the three minutes. If they
are at tree shut out* on when judge arrives, strike
points are deleted. For all other situations they are
accountable for their strike points.
Rule 4(h) Dogs treeing but not declared treed, when Judge
arrives, will be assigned and minused 25 tree
points on off game or slick tree. Dogs shut-out* on
strike on slick tree or off game will receive minus
tree points only. Refer to Rule 6 (f) for Champion
Division casts and off game.

Best not to tree your Dog if you know he is on a closed Tree!
