Thankfully it’s just minimal damage around the house, can’t go anywhere without a chainsaw just yet. Now we wait for all the water to come down from NC, banks were already full before the storm. The flood 3-4 years back was much more damaging around here. Prayers go out to all of those who weren’t so fortunate this go round.

The Twitter link I posted on a previous post is a video of 6 hounds being rescued that has went viral. I was reading the comments and most are bashing owners of hounds but a couple comments stated that the owner had died so I've been searching the web. The above article is all I've found so far and if you scroll down a ways in the article you will see that a 77 yr old man lost his life during the storm when he was blown down by strong winds when he went outside to check on his hunting dogs. No other information is given.

Chey, the hound story was on one of the nightly news programs we watch. The owner got his family out and wanted to go back for his dogs (only showed 3 on the story), but he wasn't allowed to return.

Is right by Wilmington where hurricane came ashore, l lived there years ago. Their saying Wilmington has had 86 inches of rainfall already this year with 3.5 mounths to go. Also saying 25 deaths now in NC from storm. Prayers for families affected by this storm.

I still dont dont have power at my house been out since last friday but thank god my granddaddy got his back yesterday food is getting hard to find here and gas but they are slowly getting trucks back to stores and fuel please be praying for the folks in rigelwood and delco they are still doing water rescues its been bad with water here thank god all my family is safe and sound thank god for our service folks coast guard army and national guard and a real big thanks to the cajun navy them boys put themselves in harms way to rescue folks they dont even have too

I’m in Wilmington, this is the worst storm ever! We have been out of power for 6 days, everything is flooding around here, trees are down that were hundreds of years old! My dog kennels had a giant oak crush them, thankfully I had put the dogs in our dog boxes, if we hadn’t they would have drowned before they got crushed, the water was 3 feet in the kennels and rushing, there is no way out of Wilmington,it looks like a war zone here. We have our house so that is a blessing! A lot of folks do not. People are launching boats in the streets. It is hard to describe. I have been through several hurricanes and this by far was the worst!! My hunting days are over ! The woods will not recover in my life time . God is Great though and I’m sure one day we will see the good in this.
