south dakota first

lion hunting with hounds! its been on my bucket list for sometime, custer state park in the black hillsof south dakota, a 4% chance to draw a permit for first dog hunting of lion in so. dak. an nephew who drew a permit, a brother who lives in the hills, family and friends to go and share in the experience, also a wife, brother, and friend to look after home and livestock while i was gone.a friend to send along a good dog.vac. time, and more all added up to first legal lion taken with hounds in modern day era. want to thank all involved. sweet as they say.ha. dry land conditions, wind, and no new snow, made for lots of walking and free casting of dogs. 7 day time limit, made it challenging. raymond tibbs dogs rooster and hank for there help in treeing lion. chris kainz dogs budda and shilo, for there help, todd borgruds dog fire, and baron and ripley my dogs, i know my dogs where tired and foot sore. new houndsmen i met,and more made for great memories. jim
