2018 Hunting Beagle Pilot Program Info

2018 UKC Hunting Beagle Pilot Program Schedule – Timed Lines

Purpose
The intended purpose of a Pilot Program is to try something new or different at a designated event only and then get feedback from each of those who participated in the form of a questionnaire.

The intended purpose of considering timed lines, versus the current requirement of scoring lines after the rabbit has made a complete circle, is to create more consistency between all casts when it comes to scoring speed and drive. For this test, the Rules Committee will consider the survey from the participants and decide whether or not to replace the current speed and drive requirements with timed lines. And if so, the best time period to be used.

2018 Pilot Program Events Listing
The following clubs are scheduled for a Pilot Program event. Speed and drive will be scored via timed lines, opposed to the current full circle requirement, at these designated events only, At the conclusion of their hunt, each handler will complete a survey and submit it to the Master of Hounds with their scorecard. A UKC Field Representative will be at the event to further address the specific rules that will apply for scoring speed and drive.
