Bob Roeder (Rader) of Kansas. Coon hunter and Vietnam vet. Point man on recon patrols in Nam. Shot all to pieces rescuing fellow soldiers. I wrote a story about him in American Cooner. He puts on an annual pheasant hunt for wounded warriors each year and participates in long-distance motorcycle rides annually to benefit vets. A true war hero. I have met Muhammad Ali on a flight from Kalamazoo to Memphis, met major league baseball players, major country music stars, presidential candidates and none remotely compare to this great American hero.

It wasn't an honor but I have met Obama lol. He stopped at a restaurant I was at in Marion NC. I met and got to know Sammy Stewart " the throwing swananoa". He was a pitcher for Baltimore and Boston Red Sox in the 80s (pitched one world series). He would keep you laughing. I live a couple miles from Ronnie Milsaps 1st cousin. Andie McDowell and Tim McGraw have homes very close to here too but I will probably never meet them. I have done some work for Henry Hancock which was an attorney for Elvis Presley. I also work at the prison so I am waiting to meet Jeremy Mayfield of (nascar) and Ray Caruth(Carolina Panther) when they roll through the facility I'm at lol

Not sure how famous these guys are, or if anyone even remembers them, but I got to pitch batting practice to Davey Concepcion, George Foster, and Bill Plummer! These guys were part of the Big Red Machine!
