Zig and Jane pups

Hi,

Those pups are as natural as pups get. I took the 2 lines of dogs I have hunted for 35 years and crossed them on each other. Both going back to Trap. One line was Trap crossed on Lonnie. The other was Trap crossed on Lipper.The Trap-Lipper cross formed the Rambler dogs. They are highly sought after by PKC hunters. To be honest, they are 6 years too late. Not many left. They are superior dogs. Don't believe it? Go hunt with them. After you have hunted with them, try to buy one.

A good example: Whiner sold for $8000 at 7 almost 8 years old. Tess, owned by Rick Mick just won the Kansas State Hunt. She is a sister to Ramblin' Jane and Whiner.

Zig speaks for himself. He is a coondog. Nothing fancy. Just trees coon after coon. Bring your truck and your 22 rifle.

Zig walk on water? Never seen it. Always has to swim.

Good idea. Don't be like the rest of us pleasure hunters and wait to long to get that good old dog collected....myself included! Real easy to procrastinate and before you know it its 2 or 3 yrs later and you still haven't done it...And guess what it might be to late....
I've learned a little bit about all this semen freezing process here recently ,and have found out just because your still getting pups out of that old male,doesn't mean his semen is good enough to freeze....Wow, how could that be, lots of different reasons...If you got one you love everything about, Don't wait get it done...I learned the hard way!

He is still in good health and has been eating his "special diet" for 1 year. Has never had trouble settling females but that doesn't mean much. Glad I have got 3 good daughters out of him.

finley river jake

He's out of Zig. I hunted him alone last night. He likes to keep his head up and work that wind. He was running around on his hind legs smelling the air out in the field and so we walked in and there didn't seem to be much scent on the tree.( I guess the coon had been up a while) Then all of a sudden he started treeing his gutts out several feet off the tree downwind. I think that there must of been a downdraft and it brought the scent right to him.

Hi,

Little Trap used to do that when she was a puppy learning to tree. She was an excellent layup dog.Zig goes back to Trap 4 times. Zig trees layup coons with ease. If there is no track on the ground, he goes to the air. Sounds like your pup is going to be like his Daddy. Jake is a beautiful, big headed pup with a big mouth. And now he is a layup dog, too. I hated to let that pup go, but you can't keep them all.I look at his pics lots of nights. I know where he is when breeding time comes. Wish you the best.

HI,

Received 2 females to breed to Zig when they come in. One is a daughter of Iron Man, who won the Grand American, a few years ago. She is double Clover bred. The other female is out of Nt Ch. Finley River Jack. She is a grandaughter of DGC FR Nite Hawk. She also has GNC PKC Ch FR Jody, who won Iowa State Championship at 2 years old. Placed in the Top 10 of Walker Days 2 years in a row as a 1yo and 2 yo. GNC Wild River Flag, who placed in the Top 10 of more than 1 World Hunt and finished in the Top 10 of several Lee Crawford Invitationals. Lone Pine Dewey, producer of several fine coondogs. Should be nice pups.
