Nt.Ch.Gorgeous Gomer/Sire W.C.Emmy

I was proud to see Lane Denny and Emmy win the 2019 UKC World championship hunt this weekend in Iowa.As glad as I was this really didn't surprise me since Gomer always had that special something about him.I came to own Gomer as a 3 year old,he was a UKC Nt.Ch. with 3 wins toward grand and had some wins in PKC as well. Our first night out He made a couple trees with no coons but man what a treedog he was.So after that second slick I quickly realized if we were gonna hunt together Gomer needed a little adjusting. With that done on the third turnout I cut him loose and man could he drive a track and that mouth may have been the loudest I'd ever hunted behind. He was a loud track driving machine and this impressed me.After 6 months of hunting him he was consistant in what he did and was a very sensible hound at home as well,I really felt I was going to breed him to see if he could pass all these traits to some pups.So I bred him to a female I had raised on a bottle due to their mama having mastitis. She threw 4 pups which I sold at the Parsons hunt that year. After about 5 months or so I called about all these pups none of them could be bought back.I saw in Gomer what a lot of people missed, stud dog potential.so I superstaked him and bred him to a few more females and every pup off him made some kind of hound if they were hunted.Every pup off Gomer that was put in the hunts did some winning even though he was never bred to a titled female to this date.I don't hunt the hunts anymore due to back problems I mainly pleasure hunt but I always felt that one of his pups would eventually win the World Hunt someday.Gomers pups just had that winning combination of smarts and ability that it takes in the hands of a good hunter. They love to hunt and need to be ahead doing it,very independent natured hounds.Gomer has reproduced a few Nt.Ch.s and Gr.Nt.Chs.and also some PKC winners but I will never forget that morning out in the barn that I bred Gomer to David Berry's female little did I know history was being made hence 2019 U.K.C. World Champion,Ch, Gr.Nt.Ch.Spavinaw Creek Insane Emmy was being made.gomer died last year at 13 yrs. old and is buried out back in the shade.I miss him everyday as I truly enjoyed hunting with him.I still own a 3 yr. old male off Gomer and Joe and did have Gomer collected so don't be surprised if you see another World Champion off Gomer in the future!
