garmin zooming out

Why does my alpha zoom out on its own? It did it last year when it was new. My astro started doing it this past weekend. They randomly zoom out to the whole state.

thanks Bruce I'll try that this weekend. Any ideas why it does that? I guess I thought zoom to dogs would zoom into the dogs instead of the receiver when i hit the zoom in button.

.

It is just a setting that people can use. I think most don't like it and the rest think something is broke if it zooms in or out automatically. It is neither. Just gives people an option on how they want to use their device. Probably the most confusing setting on the system.
