a lot of people use it to cut down on the bugs and smell but some dogs break out from it, so i guess it depends on the dog.

The only pro is less insects , there are a lot of cons, allergies , some say and I believe it affects a dogs nose, gas let off by urine reacting with the cedar shavings,there are a lot more im sure you will hear

Ive been using cedar chips this summer and I sprinkle seven dust on the chips .I think it works fine for insect prevention ,my only problem with it is the mess it creates in the kennel.
