I have a male pup out of max.this is the most tree minded pup I have ever had and very smart he is 6 months old john is a fine man to deal with. I have bought a lot of dogs over the years, john is one of the best and honest people I have ever bought a dog from if you are looking for a blue dog give him a call.

Thanks PJ. I think that is going to be an excellent cross. Some of the smartest pups I've seen came from that litter. Your pup is the 2nd male pup from that cross that is going to be named Gunner. Might have something to do with the way that they can spit the barks out like a machine gun. lol.

he is treeing squirrels everyday in my big pen.the stray cats don't come around if he is loose he can really tree. I thought holly was a good tree dog but he really spits them out. thanks john for both dogs and all you do for the bluetick breed.you have really got me fired up with these 2 dogs cant wait to see what they finish out to be

Hunted the final pound hunt of the year at our local club Saturday night with David Smith and Karen. David hunted Jewel and Sadie and I hunted Max and Crystal. We treed 2 doubles, a single, and 2 dens. We had another great hunt for the yearly weight contest and won the highest weight total for the year. Jewel and Sadie are both UKC Nt Ch's and PKC Champions that can tree coon in style. I carried a few different dogs along with them on different nights including Ranger, Max, Snapper, Crystal, and Sassy and they all did their part helping us out and showing us a lot of fur. We really enjoyed hunting with David and saw some really nice work from the hounds. Jewel, Max, and Snapper are out of Clear River Jimmy and Sassy and Crystal are out of Ohio Valley Jimmy.

I have really enjoyed this season and hate to see it end even though the blues are on top. This has been a really good season for us. Hopefully we can finish out with a bang in two states. I've already made my mind up to buy an Ohio license again this year. I still have a couple spots over there I've never hunted. Luckily we haven't needed to lol. Its been fun.

I had a guy with deer feeders I was supposed to hunt and a couple spots on AEP I used to hunt on. The deer feeder guy didn't want me in there until all gun season was over. I really been holding out on u with my 20 pound WV spots lol. I got a place we are going to try the final round. One of my buddies fattens them up every year. I haven't hunted it in a couple years. Hopefully it will pan out for us. I've never got the 20 plunder there yet so must mean he's there waiting for us on final night in pound season.

We'll just turn a couple dogs loose in 3 different spots and then go round them up off of trees. lol. We'll wear out the non hunting judge that goes with us. I just hope whoever gets sent with us is in good shape! Maybe if you put us on some feeders instead of hunting all of those ridges and hollers we have been hunting that we won't have to go as far as we have been going. lol.

Had another good hunt with David Smith last night in West Virginia. Ended up with the most yearly weight total at the Mason County Coon CLub. One more pound hunt to see how the final money pot will be split and we will be done for the year. No matter how that ends up we have had a great time hunting the pound hunts and have treed a pile of coon. These old BLue dogs will definitely get treed.
My Sassy female is in heat now and will be trying to get her bred to Ranger in the next few days. Should produce pups with drive that will be looking to get a coon treed.

The last pound hunt at Mason County WV Coon Club got cancelled due to weather so David Smith ended up with the top total weight for the year. We treed a lot of coon and had some really good hunts for the year. Sure enjoyed the hunts and hopefully we can do it again next year. David placed 7th in the West Virginia PKC State race last year and finished his Jewell female off of Clear River Diamond Jimmy and Smokey River Get'R'Done Maxy to Night Champion in UKC. She can get it done when she is getting scored with a scorecard or a 22. Really nice female who will continue to win in the future.

Went for a hunt tonight after a long break of hunting. Treed the first coon 18 minutes into it at .57 miles. Turned loose again and had a hole. Third turnout caught the dogs off track. Got tired of listening to them not being able to work it out of a jungle of a power line. Hung it up after that. I was well pleased for a snowy full moon night.

You are tougher than I am. lol. I'm waiting on the snow to get out of the woods before I start back up. Looks like we will be going from flooded to snow covered and then back to flooded again this week. Congratulations on getting 7th in the State Race with Jewel and wish you the best of luck in the State Hunt. Ole Jewel will do her part and I know you will hold up your end of the deal as well.

I have some of my dogs at my fiance Karen's house. It has been a long winter with both of us working during the day and being gone a lot. We knew some of the young dogs were doing some excessive kennel barking so I ordered 3 new bark collars. I got them in and was trying to let the dogs get used to wearing them a little each day before I turned them on and let the dog's get shocked. Well, before I could give them a few days of that, we got a pretty nice day and Karen got off work early and was trying to enjoy some quiet time outside which the dogs were not letting her enjoy. I started getting texts from her complaining about the dogs barking way to much and she was getting extremely irritated. I told her to either put the collars on them and turn them on or treat the dogs like she owned them. She chose to treat them like she owned them and installed some respect of her in them in a very short amount of time. The work she did on one of them corrected the rest of them and they were quiet as church mice when I got there. Looks like a $5 broom in the hands of a ticked off woman with a license to take care of business works just as good as $285 worth of bark collars. lmbo.

I have had some calls wanting some of the Clear River Diamond Jim x Clear River Slammer blood. My Ohio Valley Blue Diamond Jimmy male from that cross had to be put to sleep last summer due to cancer. I talked to Sherrill Shrimsher yesterday and our Dual Grand Jimmy dog that he has in Alabama has went sterile. Sherrill does have a few breedings on him frozen but he is going to keep them for his personal use. I have 2 females out of Ohio Valley Jimmy and 2 females from Clear River Jimmy that will be bred to Dual Grand Niangua River Mad Dog Ranger in the upcoming months.

I also have Ch Nt Ch Douglas' Maxamillion available for stud. Max is out of Clear River Diamond Jimmy and his mother was a grandaughter of National Grand Night Bluetick Dual Grand Clear River Diamond Jim II who was also out of Jim and Slammer. Maxy, Max's mother, was the 2007 Bluetick Days Queen of Hunt and a full sister to High Scoring BBOA male at the UKC World Hunt, Tangi River Blue Easy II. Max goes hunting, has a real good mouth, good track dog and locator that will stay when hooked. Straight as they come and not an ill hair on him. Just an overall nice hound to hunt. Although the majority of his pups are still young I am getting good reports on what he has produced so far.

Had a great day Sunday. Went to Church, had a wonderful dinner at my future Mother in Laws, afternoon cookout with my kids and grandkids, and then took Max and Rockefeller and treed a couple of coons. Saw some good dog work from Max and some promising actions from Rockefeller. Rockefeller is out of Gauge and Gr Nt Mad Dog Robin. He doesn't know squat, haven't shown him a coon yet, but he stays busy all of the time, went 700 yards on his own the first time out, and hunted good and treed some with Max the other night on his second trip to the woods. Time will tell what he will develop into as I give him his chances.

Max finished to Show Champion last night and is now a Dual Champion. Larry McCormick told me that he won 1st place at Gallipois Friday night with his year old female out of Ohio Valley Jimmy. There will be more winners show up from the Jimmy dogs in the future.
