If they're put together better than a dark blue one I'll pick it.

Show your hound if it has a color fault the judge will note it on the UKC report and UKC will decide. If you change it to X-Bred as some have suggested, it will no longer qualify to be shown. Let the Show Judge and UKC decide if it meets Breed standards. Some Old Bloodlines were a lot lighter.

Light color

Is perfectly fine and has nothing to do with breed standards. Judge might place lower because does not prefer it, but it is not disqualifying point, like bite would be. My old GRNT lady female was black/white from Kirbys Spike, but raised good colored pups, including GRNT Tuff Stuff from Runnin Bullet.

Good feet, good bite & correct gait should be a lot more important than color in being judged. Take care, Ron.

Light color

Because a dog is lighter does not mean that it is any less purblood than a black and tan bluetick. To some groups of people that get to continually change the standards to what they prefer is not the way it's supposed to become a brand new standard.

Preferred color is a dark blue, thickly mottled body,
spotted by various shaped black spots on back, ears and
sides. Preference is to more blue than black on body.
Head and ears predominantly black. With or without tan
markings (over eyes, on cheeks, chest and below tail), and
red ticking on feet and lower legs. Red may be eliminated
as to the desire of the breeder, as well as the amount of
black on the body and the tan head coloring.
A fully blue mottled body is preferred over light ticking on
the body. There should be more blue ticking than white in
the body coat.
Disqualifications: Albinism. Any color or combination of
colors other than described.

Definition of mottled
: marked with spots of different colors : having blotches of two or more colors

this was an image for mottled coloring

Jump to Definition - One definition states that "albinism, (from the Latin albus, meaning "white"),

it is a fact that white isn't blue lol, nor is white with black spots blue with black spots. white is albinism in the hair coat and by the standards should be a disqualifying fault. its one thing to have some white mottled in with the blue, but its another to be white with black spots. we are no longer in the 40's or 50's where this was more common as the breed moved on to be blue and away from the white. It is also my opinion that if the other breeds such as English can promote bluetick colored hounds as English or tri colored hounds as English that the bluetick breed may as well allow the white with spots and liver colored crop outs in as well. this has always baffled me and I have asked this question to ukc in the rules meeting at AO before. if all of the other breeds have to move different colored hounds to x breed why allow the English breed to have bluetick or walker hounds in theirs. color is what seperates the breeds

Liver dogs can't even be registered without falsifying the registration papers.

No way, Jose.

I'd like to see a picture of the dog in question.

I see you posted the breed standard portion on color. It states that those are preferences. Note "Liver" is not in the breed standard what so ever.
