I have been getting some PMs on Rip asking some questions. I will try to answer a few.

Rip chops and bawls on track depending on the track. He has a GREAT locate and is a chop mouth tree dog. Rip has good mouth. He will not be drowned out. He will split and he will back a dog with a coon and get some of yours. He is a high scoring type dog. He flew through the hunts to GRNITE.

I think he got beat in two shows and that is because I am a amateur on the bench.

I WILL ABSOLUTELY NOT hunt a dog if they cant get it done by themselves and get it done quick. They have got to hunt deep around here to get it done.

Rip handles better than 99% of house dogs. There is no leash required when hunting him. All you have to do is pat him on the left side of his ribs if you want to recast him.

I always recommend to go hunt with a dog. Anybody can blow smoke. Put your boots and light on, load your best dog or your buddies best, and go see what you think. Make sure to also watch one go by itself. Give Keith Bowling a call and he will take you.

I have Rips littermate sister here. They are real similar other than she is tight on the ground. Come for hunt here if you cant get to Indiana.

Probably a while. Keith and I trade the same dogs back and fourth. Hunting them in thick and thin coon. I will be coming up to Southern IL (Orient) next month hopefully. If you want to see his sister go. Keith is in Southern IN.

Yep, Hopefully we can get him collected and back into hunting shape. He hasn't seen muscles yet. Put about months hunting on him and feed him high protein food and then take a look at him. I dont think he has been cut loose in about 3 months.

I hunted with John and Rip in Eastern NC last summer. Rip got it done. Very athletic build, nice mouth, nice locate, and the one of the best handing dogs you will ever go to the woods with.

I got Rip collected so he has some semen on ice at Nevergone. Took him and Breanna last night and she treed 2 dens and one on the outside....then Rip treed two on the outside and one den. That was my first night with Rip....and I was pretty impressed with what I saw. I know he is suppose to be a little rusty...but I didn't see any sign of that last night on Eight inches of crusty snow. He seems very balanced, and action packed with a really nice mouth and an awesome locate. His mouth and manorisms reminds me a lot of Billy the Kid. Keith told me he might have to get used to me....but he has been my best buddy since day one.
I think Ripsaw may be one of the best kept secrets in the redbone breed....but not for long
