I am new to UKC and registering a name. On the papers I have for my pup has what I think is the kennel name then dog name. I am wondering if that is how I write name, or can I do kennel after name or not have a kennel name in it?

If the dog has not earned a championship yet you may be able to change the name. Limited number of letters spaces and characters.

Paula, it sounds like you have purchased a pup that has been named by the previous owner. In UKC that name can be changed up until the hound has earned a champion title. Therefore you can change it to whatever you like when reregistering it.
Until the hound is reregistered with the new name you will need to enter the hound into the events under the current name as registered on the papers.
Hope that helps.
Caution if the dog is registered in other registries be careful as some registries do not permit name changes and now you have 1 hound with 2 different names.
