No, I promise you that we put the money to good use, all the officers of our association do this on our own dime, we pay for our own expenses at the state hunt and everything that we make goes for the betterment of our sport.

Perhaps some states do not require a membership to win overall state championship, but the big majority do. I've traveled to several states showing and being around the hunts.

No you don't have to pay the extra membership and you still have the same chance as anyone to win your cast and place in the hunt and earn placement that will get you UKC points toward a degree on your hound. But beyond that, it's up to people running the state association to award further prizes or recognition, like a state title and prizes. And so most like to give that extra recognition to those that support them. Seems fair to me.

The North Carolina state association has some fine people running it and they are active in trying to keep tabs on potential legislation and policies that could negatively impact hunting. They are way more involved with that and with youth events than most other states. So I gladly pay $20 membership and or join mynlocal club to give back to them.

Just want to say thanks to Jeffrey and the rest of the officers who do a great job putting this event on. I will be there...looking forward to it.

Thanks to everyone who came out and participated in the hunt and show or even if you only bought raffle tickets, it is very much appreciated. We had a very successful weekend, we hunted 146 dogs and showed 103 over the weekend. This is the biggest state hunt we have had in a long time and we couldn't have accomplished this without all of you. Thanks again and we are already looking at ways to make next year's hunt and show bigger and better.
