Shorter runs

In general will hunting from feeders result in shorter runs/races ? The majority of my spots aren't huge, most of the tracts are small 30-100 acre farms that make up a good size tract of land but getting permission to hunt the entire tract as it lays is next to impossible. Of course I'd like to just be able to turn loose and follow the dogs wherever but that will create problems especially during deer season. Hopefully a couple of feeders will keep the coons close and the tracts hotter and not a cross county race.

In general the races will be shorter, but sometime you can get a good race from a feeder.

Runs

I start all my dogs on feeders you definitely have to put them where coons are . I found if you put your bait at small unsafe feeling tree's for the coons that are a decent distance from big tree's they have to run and lay a track to a bigger tree . Otherwise you'll tree them at your bait tree and that ain't no fun . I also noticed the brighter the moon the farther they will run .
