Dieing bawl mouth locate and genetics

Sitting here in the woods wishing I had one a dog with a hair raising locate and wondering if you could breed for that(among everything else). Anyone see a multi-generation genetic pattern where the same to die for locate carries through from dog to dog to dog?

Genetics might have some play in it but personally I think it’s the dog.

We are on our 4th, and soon to be 5th generation of it.

Yes it can be kept, and yes it can be bred for without having to have a line bred pedigree, or any T-Man in it. While I do love it, it can be a detriment in a cast.

I had a female of stylish Harry’s hammer and a xjr female about 10 years ago that didn’t even sound like the same dog when she came off the ground and located. She had a squeaky mouth on track but when she located had just an absolute text book locate. Can’t tell you how many times she would be trailing off by herself in a cast and when she threw it people in the cast would say someone’s hound come to her it wasn’t the same dog. Also hunted with a English female about 20 years ago that had just a clear hound mouth trailing but when she came treed sounded like a pack of coyotes carrying on. But I would never sacrifice locate or mouth etc over ability. But I do love a hound with a distinctive locate.

Trackman and Skipper both threw excellent locates that would carry over several generations.
