Maverick is a coon dog. Turn him loose and you are going to tree coons. Not the old bluetick boohooing trying to find out which way the track went. This dog can win. He can wind and drift a track. Does not care about another dog in the woods. He will go as far as needed to find a coon. Doesnt mill around or stand on his head.
You will not see him again until you leash him at the tree. Very hard tree dog. Absolutely will not leave a tree for any reason. Not Ill in any way. He is a fat 85-90 pounds. 75 pounds in hunting shape. Puts a big mouth, great drive and desire, really hard tree dog into his pups.

Maverick treed 2 singles with ease Wednesday night after traveling 7 1/2 hrs on Tuesday. Nothing seems to bother this dog. He has one thing on his mind when you cut him loose, treeing coons. Going to start hunting him in the other KC's.

Took maverick last night with one of his daughters (Star) owned by Jerry West. They trailed into a corn field with star leading. They caught the coon on the ground 780 yards from the truck. Maverick was pretty hot when I got to him but he definitely showed his heart, determination, and his track speed. He also showed the Heart, determination and track speed he puts in his pups! If you have hunted on corn fields in Texas in july you know how hot and rough it is on a dog. Young star looked like a top coon dog last night.

Hunting with Grnitech Grch Nolan Creek Prides Maverick HTX 3 and seeing his track speed and ability to come treed anywhere make me love this dog. But what I love more about him is seeing the same or better track speed and treeing ability he puts in his pups. These qualities make a dog hard to beat and they always have a chance. He has what I want, and that's the ability to win anywhere, anytime, against anybody. Flat independent dog that couldn't care if he had 12 hounds treed with him or by himself. Best part is he passes all that down to his pups.
