Timber was out of Mink's Black Chief, and Brooks's Black Bird, because he was out of Black Bird, i thought i would help, Gerald, promote the dog. I paid up his ukc performace fee, paid for a full page Ad in American Cooner, paid another full page Ad, in UKC Bloodlines, at that time, Gerald, thought he was 8 years old, but after looking at his ukc papers, he was in fact 10 years old. We did not find out, until after the money had been spent, i gave Gerald a good female directly out of Set-up-Ace. She was bred to Timber, she had something like 10 pups, but she wasn't eating, so she died on him, and all but one pup. Some fellows bred a female to Timber, and wanted me to buy one of the pups, i said, i have a whole yard full of dogs, it up set them, because i didn't buy one, i didn't tell them, that i had already spent at least $500.00, on Timber. After, that summer old Timber got to fat to breed a female, they gave me half of the dog, but i told, them to just keep him there. There ain't nothing, for sure, when it comes, to breeding dogs and raiseing puppys. The only sure thing is, the better the dog is, the faster he gets old.
