Garmin ?

I lost my alpha lastnight while hunting. It rained really hard most of the night. Anyways i went looking after work today and und it.It was dead. I am charging It now. Is there a chance it will be ruined when i try to turn it on? Or are they tougher and more weather resistant than that? Thank
Chris

.

I think you will be fine as long as it was not laying in standing water overnight. I would take the battery cover off and see if and how much wanter might me in that area. If it is wet take out the battery and dry everything. I would also unscrew your antenna and with a paper towel dry that area out if it is wet, which it is probably not. I think you should be OK. I thought about suggesting opening it up if there is a lot of water in the battery area and perhaps taking your wife hair dryer or you heat gun and GENTLY warming it up some.
But I think that is overkill if the battery area is not full of water.

Rice

I know folks put their cell phones in a bag of dry rice when they've dropped them in water. I don't know about Garmins, was just a thought.

Thanks guys for the suggestions. The battery compartment was dry and so was the antenna area. I charged it up and it works like new. I will say that's pretty impressive to sit out face up in torrential rain all night and it be fine. What a great product.
