Its Hammer Time
Jason,
Got to bring you up to speed on Hammer (Histree). He is doing great, a natural all the way. He loves attention and I love to give it to him, he is kinda a playful nut but, not when its time to hunt. He hunts out better than any young dog I have had. He has been hunted alone every night I have had him out. He has gotten quite deep already but, hunts an area out very well. I would say 70% of the time I get him at the tree now that his confidence has improved. He will loop by about every 30 to 40 minutes if coon are scarce. (About perfect for me) Flat out can push a coon with a beautiful loud bawl mouth, generally gives 2-4 dying bawls till he rolls onto a chop on the tree. Can't say enough about how much I love his mouth! We are froze up here now, coon are dened up probably for a good while. Last week I got out one night the coon were running alil ended up getting two, one of those was layed up on the outside of a hollow tree. I have a guy that is interested in breeding to him possibly this spring. He has a female that I sold him when I got Hammer, she would have the same pedigree as the Lipps dog. She is nice, I shouldn't have sold her but, didn't want to get to many dogs around here I can't do them justice. I think that would be a great cross. Hammer will be staying right here in Wisconsin, can't wait for the next warm up so I can get him back out. Love my Lay-Up dog! Take care BD
