2017 Heartland Classic Bench Show Judges Announced
Please join us in welcoming our 2017 Heartland Classic Bench Show Judges:
Lisa Brooks of Cascade, WI has been competing in the coonhound world for nearly 20 years. She has hunted and shown successfully at all levels, and usually with her hound-loving kids in tow. Some of her major accomplishments include winning Overall Hunt Winner at the 2007 at the AKC Wisconsin State Championship and winning AKC Overall World Show Champion she has also won at Autumn Oaks, Winter Classic, Heartland classic and many other big events. Lisa and her family have enjoyed breeding and promoting their line of Blueticks, and have contributed much of their time and attention to a life of hounds. Given her track record, it’s fair to say she is a very strong advocate of the dual purpose hound. Lisa will be judging Friday of the Heartland Classic.
Melissa Daley is from North Georgia but is a Wisconsin native where she grew up hunting with hounds for various game species. Melissa was introduced to UKC coonhound events in 2002 and later became Bench Show Judge and Master of Hounds in 2010 and 2011 respectively. Melissa’s current focus is on dual purpose coon hounds. In additional to UKC coonhound specific events, she is proud to represent the same coonhounds in rally, agility, weight pull, lure coursing, and conformation.
Melissa is currently working on becoming a doctorate of veterinarian medicine with an emphasis food production animal and canine sports medicine. Notable past Judging assignments include the 2013 Heartland Classic and the 2014 Wisconsin State Youth Championship. She will be judging Saturday of the Heartland Classic.
