Shy timid dog

Any pointers on catching a shy dog when you get ready to leave the woods?

Some times that “shy” dog may simply be a case of not wanting to get back into the dog box and ride. Took a feller a lot smarter than me and gracious enough to share his knowledge about a “shy” dog I gave away years ago to open my eyes and see what was going on.

Spend some time in your yard teaching him to come on command. The more time you spend with him the less shy he'll be.

shy dog

Work in yard before taking hunting. Give it some doggy treats to reward it for coming to you. Do same thing in woods BEFORE you get to truck & after it gets in dogbox. Take care, Ron.
