Help With Medication Dosing

I am hoping someone can help me "do the math" here...

I want to use Safeguard Wormer for Goats on my small dogs.

The dosage is 1 cc / 5 pounds

Since I have small dogs that weigh various amounts, I am hoping that someone will be able to suggest a math formula that works when I plug in the dogs' different weights.

Some of my dogs weigh: 4.25 pounds, 5 5/8 pounds, 6.5 pounds,

7 pounds, 8 3/8 pounds, etc.

Thank you

Deb

Don't have to be exact. You won't overdose them.

53 is correct, you don't have to be exact. But in dogs that small a little adjustment in dosage is a lot higher %.

If you want to be more accurate, you take each number and divide by 5.

4.25 lbs divided by 5 = .85 of a cc or 8.5/10

5 5/8 lbs would be 5.625 divided by 5 = 1.1 cc's

6.5 divided by 5 = 1.3 cc's

7 divided by 5 =1.4 cc's

8 3/8 would be 8.375 divided by 5 = 1.6 cc's.

I think you should consult vet first, even when deworming its best to go to your vet. They check their temperatures first before giving them dosages.
