We will be having the youth hunt next weekend in Grafton, WV. In the UKC upcoming events it says that registered deadline is at 7 and Ch and grands deadline is at 11. That is incorrect, I made a mistake when submitting the hunt confirmation. All dogs will run together with a 7 am deadline. 60 minute rounds.

Hope to see a lot of kids it will be a very fun event. See everyone next weekend!

I want to thank everyone who came out today to make this event such a success. Thanks to our guides and judges, Dan Mazalic for judging the show and giving the kids a show seminar, those who came early and stayed late to set up and clean up, and everyone who helped out by donating to the event. Every kid had a great time thanks to all of you that helped us with this event. This was a huge success and I hope it continues to grow and move around the country each year giving more kids the opportunity to enjoy such a great event!!

I want to thank everyone involved in putting this hunt together.
I want you all to know that my boys were so proud to come home and show their mother and family what they had won. These guys really enjoyed themselves at this hunt. The Tri County beagle is a top notch club to be willing to take on this hunt. They knew that this hunt would not be profitable and did not care. They knew they were doing it for a bunch of young men and women that are our future. Josh Ware you are the man! Fred Hawkins I want to thank you for the job you are doing as WV state rep. You have went above and beyond with your job responsibilities.

Great job with hosting the 1st Annual NHBA Youth event. Special recognition to Fred Hawkins for all your effort both at the event and for putting together the new Youth Show Format.

In this new format the children receive up to 10 points for their knowledge and handling and up to 5 additional points for the conformation of the dog they are handling. Great concept to reward knowledgeable children with excellent structured beagles. A historical first for the Hunting Beagle Program.

It was our granddaughters first event. Thank You to everyone who made it a fun and memorable day. Dan M

I hope that another club in another area of the country steps up and takes on the Youth Days next year. The youth days was successful and with a few tweeks can become better. As always you learn by doing and the inaugural event is behind us.

PLEASE understand that this event is all about the kids involvement, learning and having fun not about a club profiting from the event.
Knowing that, a club must put work into the event about 6-8 months ahead of time getting donations, discounts, judges, guides as well as hold a few fund raisers or raffles to be prepared financially to host the event. This way the host club does not endure all the costs of such an event, there are many folks that help.

Just super, super, super! Thanks to the NHBA, Josh, Fred, Kevin and everyone who had a hand in the success of the NHBA Youth Championship. Very nicely done! The smiles on those kids faces speaks volumes and a good sign that we're on the right track.
