What Victor dog food

What color Victor dog food bag do you use? Thinking about switching to it just looking to see which one works the best.

We fed Mafia the purple bag nearly his entire life. He lived to 13 years old.

I've been playing around with some different brands and some different mixes, but I'll be returning to the teal bag soon as I feed what I currently have on hand.

Victor Food Selection

I fed the red bag 24/20 in cooler weather and the yellow bag 22/10 in the warm weather. Dogs looked great and operated well. The red bag is pretty hot stuff. Had to be careful with how much you fed or they would put on weight and struggle to empty out before a hunt. Their coat was a little dull and they looked a little dry on the yellow bag. No problems gaining weight or getting empty on the yellow bag. Victor makes a quality product. They have gotten pretty expensive in my area.

RED

I have fed the red bag 24/20 for several months and very pleased with the cleanness of my kennels and the hounds performance

I used to feed the teal bag 30/20 year round.. Switched to the Purina One Salmon and Tuna for 9 months out of the year now and then do a 50/50 blend with the Purina One and Victor these cold months..

I think my dogs keep and perform better in the heat on the Purina One - subjective, but it sure "feels" that way to me watching them hunt and particularly tree. I switched to the Purina One for the extra Iodine in the Salmon and Tuna. Only reason, but really like how the dogs stay up and keep on the food..

The Victor I think is a superior cold weather food, seems to put a layer of fat on a dog quickly and where we live we get a decent winter.. Want them to be a bit slicked up this time of year. Don't want to see a hip or rib bone for at least another 60 days.. Normally I hunt very hard during the hide season and the mix keeps them looking great...

FWIW..
