Shane it was nice hunting with you the last couple of times. I sure we will cross paths in a hunt again. Hopefully we will not have as screwed up of a hunt as we had the other night. I was pushing it making deadline by the time I walked into Boone after the hunt was over. He did end up treed again but I didn't take time took at the tree. I was almost 3/4 mile from the truck and had long way to walk and a short time to get there. I was almost sprinting back to the truck then had the 1:20 drive back to Flora. It was a little crazy.

James, it was nice meeting ya and hunting with you for are short time I was in the woods. Had a great time talking talking to ya at Black and Tans days. Hope to hunt with and talk to ya again.

Troy I hope the red dogs that you had the hunt in brazil are coming along they were sure some good looking hounds.

I found out today that Boone is a Daddy for the first time today. There were 3 females and 4 males in the litter. This is exciting news. Keith reported that all the pups were healthy and good looking dark pups.

We been in Indiana the past three nights hunting with Keith Bowling and Jared. We had a good time. Seen some pretty country, treed plenty of coon, and hunted with some good guys. Keith and Jared We sure appreciate the hospitality.
If anyone is looking for a stud dog to breed to dont over look Boone he is the real deal and his pedigree is full of reproducers.

I went hunting Friday night and got the old female and Boone out. Had a good hunt. Treed 4 times and saw 8 coons. I turned are female Marlee out alone and she treed about 75 yards from the truck and had 5 kittens in one tree. I took a picture of the two lower ones they were only about 7 ft off the ground. I got a good picture of them. Boone treed the other 3 times and had kittens in all of his trees. I guess the kittens were moving good .

You just gotta love those big blocky heads. I wish that our sows would have 5 kittens in one litter. I need to bring Zeke up there. He would have a fit. You had more coons in one tree than I have in all of my hunting spots combined.

I had a great time at American Days this weekend. I had a dead cast on Thursday with some circle points. Friday night came in with 500+ and no minus on Friday giving Boone high scoring male Redbone. On Saturday had another dead cast with some more circle points. I even got to see my first armadillo when it crossed the road, man those things can jump.

I had great cast every night with great guys and ladies. Got to see some great dogs. Hats off to the St. Louis county coon hunters. They put on a great hunt. I got to put several names with some faces meeting some great new people. Thanks to everyone for making it a great experience.

Here is picture of some future dog handlers at redbone days. This is my son Garrett and I beleive this is Randy Fickens daughter holding a caged coon up during a pup training session.

Brian, it was nice meeting you as well, you guys put on a nice hunt. Maybe the next time you guys can spray your woods for ticks . I have never seen so many in my life. My wife and I spent and an hour or two picking ticks off of Boone when i got back home, I think we must have picked 150 ticks or so off him. You all defenitly have a bunch of those .



This past weekend Boone got a workout. I took him to the World All around hunt in Brazil on Saturday. We entered all of the events, to try for the big trophy and the dog box they gave away. He was one tired dog on Sunday. We entered the Bench show( which I knew he wasnt going to do very good , the water race, feild trial, treeing contest, and the night hunt. It was alot of fun, and got to meet and compete against some great dogs. He didnt win his heat at the water race, but was real close. The Feild Trial really suprised me though. He won his heat with line and Tree. Then he won the line in the final heat in the open class. He was close to winning final tree in the final overall heat but got beat bye a champion dog. So I picked up 20 points in the feild trial. The treeing contest was not bad I placed 6th out of 12 dogs entered. Then on the night hunt I came in with a score of 575 but got beat bye a nice Engish dog that had 750 in our cast.
Thanks to the Brazil IN coon club for hosting the event it was a great time.

I had a great time at national redbone days this weekend. I met some new great people and hunted with some good dogs. Boone won his cast on Friday night with 250+. Chicken Foot, Boones half sister from Haze also won her cast and placed first in the Grands. This made 2 Grands off of Haze cast winners on the same night. Boone hunted great all three nights, just got beat by other circumstances. Thanks to the Holmesville club it was a great time.

You forgot that Boone's 1/2 sister out of Haze X Willow also won 4th place registered on Fri night. Wendall brought Willow up to hunt but she was dripping blood when he got her out to hunt so she just went home with Boone. I wonder how this cross will work?
