A great night!
How many of you have treed in a 18ft long 14inch height drainage pipe? Well I did tonight and let me tell you, it was very entertaining and Heart pounding to say the least! I dumped the dogs at one of my normal spots, and as soon as the tail gate dropped it was off to the races! My heart instantly dropped because I thought the two one year old pups bumped a deer and I forgot to charge the collars so I for sure thought I was screwed! Needless to say I loaded me and the gun up to chase the hounds! I drove maybe 200yds and see the butt of one hound at one of the drainage and the butt of the other pup at the other! So I get out and I hear ww3 under my feet! My English female is fighting what I think is one big boar coon in the pipe..... boy was I wrong!!! After a few minutes of getting one of the pups out one end I look and see 5 sets of eyes staring me in the eye! I was so proud of the pups! So I let the female flush the coons to one end of the pipe after about 20-30 minutes and two of the biggest coon I've ever seen popped out and what did the pups do, you guessed it they split! Talk about a fight! I was so proud the way they handle themselves! To make a long story short I brought home two 30-35 pound coons! I got a lot of skinning and patching to do in the morning!
