Tone on Dogtra 2

Is anyone else having an issue with a dog not responding to the tone on the Dogtra 2? Dog was trained with Garmin and never had a problem. I am suspicious that it may not be working when he's out there a ways. Some times he comes in a run and sometimes he doesn't respond at all.

When I got a pathfinder 2 I quit using tone and just use the vibration so my hounds won’t hear another dog’s collar and respond like it is their collar.

Thanks I'm gonna try that. May take a few lessons.
