Absolutely Pleasure dog first. He also place top ten Ukc World hunt and top 100 like 4 years straight. And I feel I could have won more with him but me and him clicked together.

To me yes. I also find it more pleasurable to hunt a dog that hunts hard is independent has no reverse and has one thing on its mind when it turned loose. When I think of the behind the barn hide hunters dog I think of one that takes its time will pack up when turned loose with company and will maybe check in if it doesn’t get struck or if it works a track it can’t handle instead of just going on. Nothing wrong with either. The big difference in a strictly pleasure hunter dog and the dogs you see winning the big ones consistently is they don’t work on the situations that you run into in hunts while pleasure hunting. Not that there dogs won’t fill the truck bed up with coons they just aren’t trained to handle the pressure.
